These financial awards not only recognize and reward exceptional achievements but also serve as catalysts for personal and professional growth, enabling individuals access to quality education and also allowing students to pursue their ambitions.

The Josephine West Memorial Service Scholarship provides an award of $1,000 to an outstanding undergraduate student at the University of Florida.
It was established by the Office of Student Affairs in 1985 after her untimely passing, in memory of her fine contributions to the University.Josephine West served on the staff of the University of Florida for thirty-seven years. Mrs. West was a person who loved to serve others in any way she could to further their educational progress and accomplish their career goals. This $1,000 scholarship provides support to a student who reflects the values for which Josephine West stood: academic excellence, service to others, and a love of learning.
Your resume and a personal essay describing how your work reflects the values of Josephine West must accompany this application. Essays should be no more than 500 words or two pages double-spaced (Times New Roman and size 12 font). One letter of reference from a faculty or staff member should be provided.Letters of recommendation must be submitted electronically in PDF format to studentlife-scholarships@ufl.edu by the deadline. Your application will be considered based on your service to UF and fellow students and academic excellence.

Established in 1922, the University Women’s Club (UWC) is an organization comprised of University of Florida faculty, staff, and other women who actively support the mission and goals of the Club. From its Endowment Fund, the Club has for many years awarded scholarships to deserving women and men in honor of the wives of past presidents of the University of Florida, as well as the wives of a few former distinguished campus leaders.
These women served the University during their husband’s careers at the University of Florida and their service has been recognized by the University Women’s Club through scholarships awarded in the spring. In celebration of its 100 years of existence and service to the University the University Women’s Club, beginning in the spring of 2022, will award five $5,000 scholarships to exceptional undergraduate students.
