Dear Students,

We are merely weeks away from the start of the fall semester, and we know many of you will also be returning to Gainesville soon. Please know, whether you are coming back to Gainesville or joining us virtually, we are excited to welcome you as you continue the pursuit of your educational journey.

More than ever, now is the time to reaffirm your commitment to physical distancing, as you limit your contact beyond your household, opting out of larger social gatherings, and utilize healthy practices. These include wearing a face mask when in public settings and staying a minimum of 6 feet from people with whom you do not reside. These are all critical components in our fight against the challenges posed by COVID-19, and your full support and direct action are vital.

We also encourage all of our students, faculty and staff, and members of the Gainesville community to join in our shared commitment to protect our community by participating in #IPledgeFlorida. Created by the UF Student Government, in partnership with the Santa Fe Student Government and the City of Gainesville, the pledge is a powerful opportunity to demonstrate your dedication to keeping our community in good health.

What we all do now, will ultimately impact what we can do moving forward. I thank you all for your collective role in making sure we all have a productive and positive school year.

Be safe, be well, and as always – Go Gators!

Dr. D’Andra Mull
Vice President for Student Affairs
