Dr. Heather White
As Vice President for Student Life, Dr. Heather White provides leadership to the Division of Student Life in its mission to champion meaningful experiences that foster community connection, career design and lifelong wellbeing. Dr. White has dedicated her career to intentionally listening, continuously learning, and to caring courageously for students as she aims to promote an individualized excellent experience for all students.
Dr. White began her career in student affairs at Valdosta State University in residence life before moving to another role in residence life at Jacksonville University. Dr. White then joined the Gator Nation, almost two decades ago, working in what is now the Career Connections Center. Dr. White served in several roles within the center, including as the director for approximately seven years, prior to becoming Interim Dean of Students in 2017. One year later, Dr. White became Associate Vice President & Dean of Students, leading many of the student health and well-being initiatives on behalf of the Division prior to assuming her role as Vice President for Student Life at the beginning of September 2022.
As a first-generation college student, Dr. White graduated from Troy University with a degree in psychology before attending Mississippi State University and receiving a master’s degree in counselor education. Dr. White also holds a Doctor of Education from the University of North Florida in educational leadership.
