Florida Museum of Natural History

Did you know that the University of Florida is home to one of the nation’s top five Natural History museums? Stop by the Florida Museum to explore the biological diversity and cultural heritage that makes up the state of Florida. Be sure to check out the Butterfly Rainforest, a can’t-miss living exhibit that features hundreds of free-flying butterflies and birds from around the world. Harn Museum

The Harn Museum of Art at the University of Florida is an 112,800-square-foot-facility located at the Cultural Plaza at UF. Harn’s collection totals more than 11,500 objects including African, Asian, modern and contemporary art, and photography with significant representations of Ancient American and oceanic art, as well as a growing collection of natural history works on paper. Institute of Black Culture (IBC)

A beacon for culture and progress, the Institute of Black Culture, or IBC, serves as a place to support learning by connecting students with faculty, staff, community resources, and to each other. institute of Hispanic-Latino Culture (La Casita)

RecSports

It is time to get moving. RecSports at UF has two indoor facilities available to students. Take some time this weekend to get moving. Be sure to check the hours page and counts page before you head over to crush that work out. You also have the opportunity to take part in an in-person or virtual class.

 

Reitz Union Game Room

Off Campus

Gainesville is where culture and nature meet. These local places and facilities are top recommendations from UF’s Office of Off Campus Life to explore and enjoy. Please be sure to adhere to all posted signage regarding physical distancing and face covering requirements. There may be times that these facilities reach capacity so be sure to head out early to take advantage of these great opportunities!
 

Cade Museum

The Cade Museum, conveniently located next to Depot Park, engages and inspires by captivating the minds, hearts, and hands of inventors of all ages. Here you can explore STEAM concepts in a unique way, highlighting cutting-edge and emerging technologies, and tracing them back to their original roots of invention. Currently, the cade museum is only open Fridays and Saturdays from Noon – 5pm. Be sure to plan your visit prior to heading over.
