Informed Gators

The University of Florida is committed to creating a safe and secure campus environment. These online training modules will help you navigate the college experience by focusing on your health and safety. The modules cover Sexual Violence Prevention, Hazing Prevention, Alcohol and Other Drugs, Career Readiness, and Mental Health. As an informed community, you will have all the tools to make our campus a safe and welcoming place for all Gators.

Violence Prevention Course

These interactive courses provide incoming Gators with the language and skills to cultivate healthier relationships and prevent interpersonal violence. The training explores the challenges and responsibilities of college life and addresses the interconnection between drug and alcohol abuse, decision-making, and sexual violence. It encourages students to reflect critically on the personal beliefs, social norms, and cultural pressures that enable high-risk behaviors. It also provides students with foundational context to articulate healthy and unhealthy relationship behaviors.

Students who have not yet attained their bachelor’s degree will be assigned to the undergraduate course. Voices for Change

Students who have attained a bachelor’s degree will be assigned to the graduate-level course. Graduate Student Upstanders

Each course incorporates bystander intervention, campus policies, behavioral expectations, and information critical to the prevention of relationship violence.

AlcoholEdu

AlcoholEdu for College is an interactive online program that uses the latest evidence-based prevention methods to create a highly engaging learning experience, inspiring students to make healthier decisions related to alcohol and other drugs.

All incoming first year students are required to complete the AlcoholEdu course.


Hazing Prevention 101

Hazing is a national problem known to impact the health and safety of a wide range of college students engaging in varied types of activities and organizations. Thus, the University of Florida requires all first-time-in-college and transfer students to complete Hazing Prevention 101, an evidence-based course reflecting the best practices in hazing prevention. Through the course, students learn how to recognize and report hazing and steps they can take to prevent it from occurring.
